JBN Solar Roofs
Location: Abuja FCT
Date: 2024
Status: Phase One Complete
Client: Julius Berger + Protergia Energy
In a bid to migrate to a greener, more sustainable, and environmentally friendlier means of powering its operations, JBN has now embarked on a deployment of solar power systems across its IDU Yard facilities and assets; The resultant spread of industrial facilities under focus in Phase ONE covers a roof surface area totaling circa 4,300sqm.
Targeted at supplementing just under 20% of current power requirements this intervention (deployed by PROTERGIA Energy) features the planning, design schematics, and deployment of over 1,990 panels to generate a little over 1,100KW of power (@ 555W per panel) distributed across five buildings of different sizes and Industrial use - including fabrication, storage, and administrative functions.
The planned array of panels is supported by over 75,000mm of access ladders, almost 220,000mm of catwalk, and over 770,000mm of cable tray systems; with CL-30, CL-33, and CL-50 Inverters providing the core energy components of the deployed systems.
Preceded by an extensive survey to establish existing conditions the planning and design work provided the scheduling for procurement and the comprehensive installation guide layout. Phase ONE was successfully delivered in 2024-Q4.
